Batabano is a festival of music, dance, and street parades, all decked out in colorful costumes. Carnival in the Cayman Islands has a distinct flavor as the islands are home to a melting pot of over 100 nationalities. The street fete will feature calypso artist Crazy, while the famous reggae band The Wailers will play a concert on May 6.

Cayman Carnival Junior Batabano is a family-friendly festival for the islands’ youth. Held at Camana Bay, it features a lively parade that culminates in a variety of activities, from face painting to food booths. Junior Carnival takes place a week after the adult parade; this year it will be held on Saturday May 14.

This Memorial Day weekend the British Virgin Islands will host the 2011 edition of the BVI Music Festival Cane Garden Bay on Tortola. On Friday, May 27, number one selling Trey Songz will get things started. On Saturday, May 28, four-time Grammy award winner, platinum selling and VH-1 reality television star, Keyisha Cole will light up Cane Garden Bay.
