Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Cuba with Insight Tours

This December 31, Americans can ring in the New Year on the Malecón in Havana or in the UNESCO town of Trinidad dancing salsa under the stars. Insight Cuba has five programs running over New Year’s Eve ranging in length and itineraries, from a four-day Weekend in Havana to an eight-day trip to the infamous Bay of Pigs.  As a bonus, select departures also feature free or 50 percent off roundtrip charter air from Miami to Havana.

In addition to welcoming in 2012 in formerly forbidden Cuba, participants will enjoy a host of intimate, exclusive people-to-people encounters, from visiting children at a local orphanage to meeting an artist behind a painting and sitting front row at a famed Havana jazz club.

Each of the five tours spends ample time in Havana, visiting the must-see city which has been restored to its historic splendor by UNESCO World Heritage.  Highlights include strolls through historic Habana Vieja exploring the famous Cathedral Square, Plaza de Armas, the City Museum, and the Havana Club Rum Museum, and visiting the Callejón de Hammel, a community music and culture project where guests learn about the profound African influence in Cuban culture.

In addition to the sites, participants meet Cuba’s wonderful people. One of the most touching visits is to the Abel Santamaria School for the Blind and Deaf, a most special facility that provides care for special needs children between the ages of four and fourteen. Guests also get a true glimpse of local neighborhood life while attending a local block party.

Travelers with Insight Cuba’s small groups (maximum 16 participants) enjoy having an in-country host/escort, four- and five-star hotels and all meals. Prices (per person, double occupancy) also cover ground transportation, domestic flights in Cuba (where required), all entry fees, professional guide services, U.S. Treasury Department license and Letter of Authorization, and travel insurance.
