Saint Lucia Jazz 2012
St. Lucia
April 30 – May 13, 2012

Saint Lucia Jazz, now into its 21st year, will feature some of the best live performances from renowned local, regional and international superstars, with celebrated performer and multiple Grammy winner Lionel Richie headlining this year’s festival. The 2012 event, April 30 - May13, will feature over fifty artists performing against diverse Saint Lucian locales, from the signature Atlantic Ocean backdrop of the Pigeon Island National Landmark, to quaint and rustic village settings like Fond D’Or in Dennery, Rudy John Beach Park in Laborie and Seaside jazz at Duty free Pointe Seraphine in the heart of Castries. Main stage performances get underway from May 9 to 13. Musical heavy weights include accomplished South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela; five time Grammy winning artiste Ziggy Marley - the son of iconic reggae legend Bob Marley; jazz aficionado Joshua Redman; hit R&B song writer turned performer and soulful songstress Keri Hilson; pop and hip-hop phenom Melanie Fiona and gospel king Kirk Franklin among others. A slew of Saint Lucia’s leading musical masterminds like Luther Francois, Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson, Richard Payne, Derek Yarde Project and fill out the bill.

SMART 2012
St. Maarten
May 16 - 18

The St. Maarten Annual Regional Trade Show (SMART) is slated for May 16 - 18, 2012 at the Radisson Blue Resort, Marina & Spa in St. Martin where the region comes together to support, interact and work together to promote tourism to the Eastern Caribbean. This year, tourism entities from St. Maarten, St. Martin, Anguilla, Antigua, Barbuda, B.V.I., Dominica, Guadaloupe, Montserrat, Saba, St. Barthes, St. Eustatius and St. Kitts & Nevis are expected to come together for the show. SMART 2012 kicks off on Wednesday, May 16th where delegates have the opportunity to meet and mingle with their peers at a welcome reception before the first day of business begins.  Throughout the trade show, participants can setup appointments with travel partners and wholesalers as well as hotel and excursion operators.

Bermuda International Film Festival
Hamilton
March 16 – 22

In celebration of international independent film, as well as home-grown filmmaking talent, the 15th Annual Bermuda International Film Festival (BIFF) will feature over 50 screened films during this seven-day event. Taking place in the City of Hamilton, the film program will center around the crowd-pleasing World Cinema line-up, featuring heavy-hitters and winners from high-profile film festivals around the world, such as Cannes and Sundance. The Competition Shorts will be a clear highlight as BIFF is recognized as a qualifying film festival for the Short Film Academy Award. The schedule will also include a late-night After Hours strand and several country-specific showcases as well as special opening and closing night presentations. Additionally, there will be panel discussions with experts from the film industry, parties and a dedicated Social Hub where enthusiasts can mingle after films.
