San Juan Marriott’s “Big Dig” Gives Agents
a Chance to Win Big

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is pleased to announce the winners of its first ever “Big Dig” event. The event awarded three pre-qualified travel agents a total of $3,000 in cash prizes. The winning travel agents were treated to a four-night stay at the San Juan Marriott, during which they participated in an actual “treasure hunt” on the beach where each unearthed a treasure chest with prizes. Five prizes were hidden in five chests, four containing $1,000 and one containing $6,000. The winners, Sharon Muscara, Jennifer Sammartino, and Tysain Bryant, each dug up $1,000. Winners were determined based on the number of room nights they booked at the San Juan Marriott.

Due to the success of the 2011 event, the San Juan Marriott will continue this annual competition, launching its 2012 “Big Dig 2” this month. “The Big Dig” is a unique contest platform, first launched in April 2011. The event was created to reward valued and hardworking travel agents with the opportunity to win big prizes. The top five travel agents to book the most room nights at the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino within the allotted competition time are invited to an all-inclusive, luxurious stay for two at the resort, complete with airfare and tours. As part of their adventure, the lucky winners embark on a real treasure hunt to unearth cash prizes, totaling $10,000, hidden within five treasure chests buried underneath San Juan’s celebrated Condado Beach. Participants will be able to track their progress by registering and logging their bookings online at www.BigDigSanJuan.com.

There are two easy steps for travel agents to participate:

  • Log on and fill out a one-time registration form at: www.BigDigSanJuan.com. Once complete, participant will receive an email with a contest registration number.
  • Use the unique contest registration number to log San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino bookings online by completing a simple form.

Travel agents can log on to the website to monitor their progress throughout the contest and see where they rank against other participants.

“Travel agents are the hotel industry’s most prominent advocates and we have created this program to thank them for their great support over the years,” said general manager Hans-Georg Roehrbein. “We want to reward deserving agents and encourage them to have fun while they work by presenting them with big rewards.”
